The Opening Key Note Lecture will be by Barbara E. Murray, covering her personal journey with Antimicrobial research in Houston.

Topics will include:

Mechanistic bases of antibiotic resistance

with presentations by Tim Palzkill, Adriana Rosato, Robert Bonomo, and Lynn Zechiedrich, along with selected abstracts for oral presentations.

Pharmacological bases of resistance and drug discovery

with presentations by Vincent Tam, Magnus Hook, Michael Rybak, Julian Hurdle, and Ashok Chopra, along with selected abstracts for oral presentations.

OMICS, the microbiome and antibiotic resistance

with presentations by Jim Musser, Yousif Shamoo, Robert Britton, and Danielle Garsin, along with selected abstracts for oral presentations.

Epidemiology of antimicrobial resistance and clinical impact

with presentations by Vance Fowler, Maria V. Villegas, Sam Shelburne, and Cesar A. Arias

Poster sessions will also be held on both days.

Edward Septimus, will be discussing Stewardship strategies to Combat Antimicrobial Resistance

And Eric Pamer will be presenting a Keck lecture on the Interplay between the microbiome and resistant bugs in cancer patients
